Sauna Boat Melbourne offers a unique floating sauna experience right in the heart of the city. Moored at Melbourne City Marina in Docklands, our boat features a toasty sauna, invigorating onboard cold plunge tubs, a cold freshwater shower, and stunning harbour views. It’s the perfect hot and cold therapy experience without leaving the CBD.
How does the sauna boat work?
Our environmentally friendly electric sauna maintains an optimal temperature of around 80°C. You’ll alternate between the heat of the sauna and our onboard cold plunge tubs or cold freshwater shower for a revitalising wellness session.
Does the sauna boat leave the marina?
No, the sauna boat remains moored at Melbourne City Marina in Docklands for the entire session.
What amenities are available on the sauna boat?
Scandinavian timber sauna room
Onboard ice baths
Cold freshwater shower
Outdoor seating
Changing facilities aboard the boat (please use bathroom facilities prior to boarding)
Towels provided for each guest for use in sauna
Can I swim off the boat?
No – for safety reasons, swimming off the boat is not permitted. The ice baths and cold shower onboard provide the cold therapy component of your session.
How many people can the sauna boat accommodate?
Private sessions: up to 5 guests
Shared sessions: up to 4 guests
Do I need to bring anything for my sauna session?
We recommend:
Swimsuit (no nudity allowed)
Water bottle
An extra towel for changing
How long is a sauna session?
Each session lasts 60 minutes, giving you plenty of time to enjoy hot and cold therapy.
What time should I arrive and where do I go?
Please arrive on time for your booking - your Sauna Master will meet you at the Melbourne City Marina entry gate at your scheduled session time and escort the group to the boat.
When is Sauna Boat Melbourne open?
We operate Saturday & Sunday initially, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Bookings open three months in advance.
Do you offer gift vouchers?

Is there an age requirement?
Guests must be 18+ to book and access the sauna boat.
Is the sauna boat accessible for people with disabilities?
Due to the nature of the boat, accessibility may be limited. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Can I use the sauna if I’m pregnant or have a medical condition?
Please consult your doctor before booking if you are pregnant or have an existing medical condition.
What are the benefits of hot & cold therapy?
Alternating between heat and cold can improve circulation, reduce inflammation, aid recovery, boost mood, and support overall wellbeing.
Can I rent the sauna boat for a private group?
Yes - private bookings are available for up to 5 guests.
Can I bring drinks onboard?
The sauna boat is alcohol-free. Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
What is your cancellation policy?
Bookings are non-refundable, but you can reschedule with at least 7 days’ notice. Severe weather may result in cancellations - if this happens, we’ll contact you to offer a refund or reschedule.
